Invisalign & Orthodontics

is a very popular alternative to the traditional “metal” braces.  Invisalign uses the latest 3-D computer technology that follows our office x-rays and custom impressions. Invisalign offers patients more freedom and flexibility to continue to eat the foods they desire throughout their treatment, smile with confidence, and allows dental hygiene to remain at an optimum level versus traditional orthodontic applications.

How does Invisalign work? We diagnose the problem and determine the best course of treatment. We take photographs and impressions of your teeth and send your customized treatment plan to Invisalign. Invisalign then uses advanced computer technology to finely calibrate a  sequence of aligners made just for you.

This could mean as few as 10 or as many as 30 aligners.

Braces and orthodontic treatment are used to correct “bad bites,” or malocclusion (teeth that are crowded or crooked). In some cases, your teeth may be straight, but your upper and lower jaws may not meet properly. These jaw or tooth alignment problems may be inherited or could result from injury, early or late tooth loss, or thumbsucking.

If you have an abnormal bite, Dr. Nilo may recommend braces or another orthodontic treatment to straighten out your smile. Correcting the problem can create a nice-looking smile, but more importantly, orthodontic treatment results in a healthier mouth. Not correcting an abnormal bite could result in further oral health problems, including tooth decay, gum disease, tooth loss, affected speech and/or chewing, abnormal wear to tooth enamel, and jaw problems.
